We are proud to launch our new look websites www.springfielddistrictvets.com.au and www.groodlesaustralia.com . The latter received 1400 hits last month! We would be honoured for our clients to take the time to take a look at our sites and provide us with some feedback.
Paralysis Tick Season is here – is your pet protected?
With the warming weather, dangerous paralysis ticks are back. Shorter coats keep dogs and cats cool, and assist owners in finding ticks which may have attached. Now is the time to have your pets’ winter coats clipped. We are most happy to do full clips of dogs and cats at SDVC. We will also offer sound advice as to which products are most useful in preventing tick attachment. Remember, if your animal is showing signs of tick paralysis such as a wobbly walk, change of voice, vomiting or respiratory difficulty, be sure to seek immediate veterinary advice on 3288 1574.
PetPEP
PetPEP, an initiative of the Australian Veterinary Association, stands for Pets and People Education Program. See http://petpep.ava.com.au/. Dr Pagaen Boyd from SDVC will visit local primary schools, educating students in responsible pet ownership, safety around animals and keeping pets happy and healthy. If you would like a visit, please contact the clinic for more details. You never know, the fire truck may come along!
Fire Truck
Our little red fire truck is finally fixed and has returned to pride of place outside the clinic! If you need cheering up, ask the driver, he may honk the horn for you, or flash his lights..

Half –Price Microchipping in September2010
Microchipping is permanent identification for pets, allowing easy reunion with lost dogs or cats. New laws implemented in June 2009 require all puppies/kittens aged 8-12 weeks and any dogs/cats who change owners to be microchipped. Chips are implanted under the skin so cannot fall off, unlike collars and registration tags. Microchipping at SDVC is 50% off in September, so book an appointment today.
