Spring Time and Snake Bite

Spring is almost here and we have had our first case of snake bite. Snakes at this time of year are particularly venomous as they have been resting through the winter. Snake bite can present with neurological symptoms and/or an inability to clot blood. If you see your dog or cat with a venomous snake, and they appear to be fine – do not be deceived. Pets can show initial symptoms and then appear completely normal for some time – these pets can still die of snake bite so be sure to consult our veterinarians for advice.

Dog Car Restraints Available

Keeping your dog safe while riding in the car is of paramount importance. Your dog can suffer an injury if not secured and can be harmed by car airbags. An unrestrained dog can cause a fatal injury to yourself and your passengers in the event of a collision. It is illegal to have an unrestrained dog travelling in the car in NSW (beware when journeying over the border). It is illegal in QLD to travel with your dog on your lap and to travel with an unsecured load that may project inside a vehicle and injure another.

We have in stock a range of car harnesses and travel crates. Please visit our pet store and talk to our helpful staff to find the best restraint for your dog!
