Dr Jeannet H Kessels BVSc (Hons) and Assoc

SDVC vets are highly skilled and carefully mentored. All staff attend regular Continuing Education courses, such as ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, canine reproduction, antibiotics, oncology, Penn Hip Scoring and new product launches.

A free second opinion is available within the practice for clients wishing to discuss their pet's condition with a senior veterinarian. We are most happy to provide this service upon request.

Dr Jeannet Kessels BVSc (Hons)
Practice Principal, Senior Veterinarian

Jeannet graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 1986.  She is the owner of Springfield District Vets and well known within the community.  Jeannet is a senior veterinarian with wide practical experience and a warm approach.  She has a keen interest in surgery and reproduction work.  Jeannet is most happy to provide a free second opinion within the practice upon request. She greatly enjoys her  family life and is following artistic pursuits in her spare time.

Dr Karen Williams BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian

Karen graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 2007. She is very thorough in the workup of cases, precise in her surgery and well liked by clients. Her particular interest is in canine medicine, surgery and ultrasonography. Karen enjoys jumping and dressage with her thoroughbred Pete. 

 

Dr Marilyn Neale BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian

Marilyn graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours in 2005.  She enjoys small animal medicine, animal behaviour, diagnostic imaging and is an excellent surgeon.  Marilyn's warm and compassionate approach endears her to clients. Marilyn owns a whippet named Penny.


Dr Pagaen Boyd BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian

Pagaen graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours in 2009 as a top level veterinary student. In her spare time she enjoys showing and being involved with breeding of her parent's Springer Spaniels. Pagaen has a particular interest in the field of reproduction, with time spent with Veterinary Reproduction Specialist Dr Phil Thomas. Pagaen is an excellent general veterinarian, dedicated and thoughtful in all of her work.  Pagaen is mentored by Dr Jeannet Kessels.

Dr Rachel Ball BVSc (Hons)
Veterinarian

Rachel graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 2009 as a top level veterinary student, along with her twin sister. She has a particular flair for Small Animal Medicine with a particular interest in Endocrinology (the study of hormone imbalances). Rachel is extremely thorough and particular,and is very kind and considerate in all that she does.  Rachel is mentored by Dr Jeannet Kessels.
