Dr Jeannet graduated from the University of Queensland with First Class Honours in 1986 and has worked in Camira and Springfield as a vet for 30 years. Jeannet has won a number of awards such as the Business Manager of the Year award from the Australian Veterinary Business Association, and has spent a number of years studying leadership with other forward-thinking veterinarians and business leaders. Her Groodles Australia program has donated over $300,000 to charity. She has previously been an AVBA board member, and has taken an interest in the industry as a whole.
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her kids and exploring artistic pursuits.

Outside of work, she loves outdoors adventures, and once back-packed through Europe for eight months! She has two Great Danes, which always keep her busy, and she loves to cook.

Mark possesses an exceptional artistic and technological mindset and thrives in challenging environments. He is also a natural born leader, with his charismatic personality and unparalleled ‘lead from the front’ ability easily transitioning over from work to his passion for fitness and sport. He plays touch football weekly, exercises daily and is a medal-winning athlete at the Northern University Games. He loves to involve his beloved Rottweilers Theia and Luna on many of his outings.
Dr Rachel Ball (BVSc Hons)
Rachel is extremely thorough and particular, and is kind and considerate in all that she does. Rachel’s Golden Retriever, ‘Rosie’, is also a mum in our Groodles Australia charity-breeding program. She also has a grumpy ginger cat called ‘Yoda’ that she loves.
Dr Abbie Tipler (BVSc, MANZCVS Surgery)
Aside from being our go-to woman for difficult cases and surgeries, Dr Abbie maintains an active and philanthropic personal life, with her passions including running for Can Too, which raises money for Cure Cancer Australia, her two children Ashton and Maddie, and her two gorgeous ragdolls ‘Little Bear’ and ‘Mr Tuffy’.

Dr Josh enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle outside of work, and is particularly fond of hiking.
Dr Megan Jeffers (BVSc Hons)
Megan is mum to her baby daughter Imogen, and has a golden retriever named ‘Willow’ and a cat named ‘Wiley’.
Dr. Chloe Steffensen (BVSc Hons)
Dr Chloe has two pampered pooches — ‘Snickers’ the Moodle (Maltese x Miniature Poodle) and ‘Alfie’ the Italian Greyhound. In her time off, she loves traveling, having been to a number of countries throughout Africa, North and South America, Asia and Europe. The only continent left on her list is Antarctica… Stay tuned for updates on that!
Dr Lauren Byrne (BVSc Hons)
Dr Lauren has always loved animals, and grew up with three cats, two dogs, four birds, a horse and a fish! She now owns a beautiful rescue cat called ‘Riley’.
Dr Lauren Parkes (BVSc Hons)
Outside of work she enjoys scuba diving and film. Her beautiful little companion is ‘Sushi’, a medium-haired tabby cat with bright green eyes who will happily cuddle up in her lap for hours.
Dr Tom Wright (BVetBiol/BVSc)
Outside of work he loves to keep active, enjoying golf and rugby. He has a silver tabby cat called ‘Fish’.
Dr Karen Burnett (BVSc Hons)
Dr Karen is currently on maternity leave and we look forward to seeing more of her soon!
Our highly trained Vet Nurses assist Veterinarians in the treatment and care of animals needing medical and/or surgical attention. They are primarily in charge of the preparation and recovery stages of an animals visit.
She loves to teach and mentor our nurses and trainees, and is deeply involved in nurturing our student nurses as they progress through their studies and employment with us. Sandra has quite the menagerie at home with three horses, three dogs, a cat and chickens! Sandra’s family also includes ‘Chilli’ and ‘Poppy’ who were part of the Groodles Australia project.
As you can tell, Bec loves animals! She has recently risen to the challenge of managing our ever-growing Groodles Australia program, which sees gorgeous Groodle puppies bred and sold, with the proceeds benefiting an East Timor scholarship program and Beyond Blue.
Sam Bayly (Cert IV)
Sam also enjoys grooming and is a fantastic advocate for our Groodles program. Sam was the recipient of the Veterinary Nurse Student of the Year for 2014 and we are extremely proud of her.
Leah Gaeta (BAPLSC Vet Tech)
She lives on the Gold Coast with a huge collection of beautiful reptiles, including a variety of dragons, skinks, pythons, and elapids (such as a red-bellied black snake named ‘Rubius’!). Two pets that are very close to her heart are her Spencer’s Monitor ‘Percival’ and her Border Collie ‘D’artagnan’, who was named after the fourth Muskateer.
She has two rescue cats — Amber and Scout — who love to cuddle up in her lap of an evening. Her rescue dog Annabelle is a Golden Retriever who is very food-motivated! Joanna also has two beautiful human babies, Matilda and Phoebe, who keep her on her toes.
Holly is super active and loves the outdoors, and participates in the Augustine Heights Park Run, a local running group that meets every Saturday at Catherine Morgan Park. Feel free to join her! She also has two beautiful pooches — a Dogue de Bordeaux called ‘Brick’ and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel called ‘Spencer’, not to mention a gorgeous thoroughbred horse named ‘Carrot’.
Outside of work, Meegan leads an active and social life, playing and watching soccer and netball regularly. Her two cats ‘Olivia’ and ‘CC’ are both rescue kitties with disabilities, while her dog ‘Jackson’ is a big, lazy purebred husky who loves carrots.
Her furry family includes her two senior cats ‘Tris’ and ‘Seb’ and two staffy crosses ‘Duke’ and ‘Boston’ who she adopted through the clinic. Stevie is currently on leave and we look forward to welcoming her back soon!
Kelly McGovern (BASc)
She’s also a Brisbane Broncos member and loves reading and photography in her spare time. Recently, she welcome her first son Nate into the world and we couldn’t be happier for her and her family!
